Whether it’s cheezy teen novels (Twilight) or classic poetry (Lord Byron), the bad boy archetype has long had an erotic appeal to women of all types.
But before you start cultivating your badboy side, you need to remember something: not all badboys are created equal.
The badboys that women really respond to are the “badboy with a heart of gold” archetype.
Not a villain, not just someone who breaks the rules.
The badboy with the heart of gold is a man who lives by his own rules, and has higher principles that are sometimes at odds with society at large.
Maybe he’s the guy who tells the truth in a society that lies. Maybe he’s the guy who seeks freedom in a society that is repressive.
But he’s not just breaking the rules for their own sake, he has a reason. There is a method to his madness.
Because he lives by higher principles, you can trust him.
Maybe you can’t trust him to behave properly at a dinner party, but you can trust him to do the right thing when it counts.
In fact, because the badboy has the courage to stand up to society, you can often trust him more than the “nice guy” who follows authority (even when that authority is wrong).
That’s why the badboy gives women the “feeling of being desired by a powerful man she can trust“.
If you’re developing your badboy side, remember that. It’s not about being selfish, or just breaking the rules for it’s own sake.
It’s about being a confident man who sticks to his principles, even if that means breaking the rules.
One of the great things that happens to guys when they start to cultivate their badboy side is that they start to learn how to break some of these unspoken rules that are holding them back.
Rules like – “you can’t say that!”, or “You can’t do that!”. Rules that tell them not to stick their neck out, or take risks, or speak their mind.
But as they break those rules, they don’t become assholes, or villains. They actually become better people.
Because above the shallow rules of etiquette are higher principles.
Be honest, act with integrity, stand up for yourself.
That is the heart of gold.
But you need to unleash your badboy side to get there.
