(For some reason, this blog post and email was posted a day early! Oh well!)
It’s Friday night, and here’s some inspiration to make your weekend a little bit more social.
What I’m going to share with you right now is the simplest, most basic persuasion principle known to man.
But, despite it’s utter simplicity, it is both incredibly powerful, and completely overlooked by your average guy.
Empires have been destroyed by leaders who didn’t understand this principle.
If you want to live a life of abundance and influence, you need to REALLY understand this principle so that it becomes part of your very being.
The principle is this:
If you want more of something from someone – reward it.
And the inverse statement, if you want less of something from someone – stop rewarding it.
Many of you may be thinking this advice is far too simple to be useful. After all, doesn’t everyone know this?
But if you pay attention, you might just notice that you’re not actually applying this principle in your life.
You might realize that you’re rewarding things that you don’t want. And you’re failing to reward the things you do want.
So pay attention – when people talk to you, are nice to you, text you, call you, invite you out – do you make them feel good for that? Every time?
Or do you take them for granted, and fail to make them feel good?
Likewise, when people ignore you, take you for granted, nag you or push you around, do they benefit from that, or not?
The way you react will determine how people treat you.
Because, if you want more of something, you need to reward it.
And if you start rewarding it, who knows how much more you will get!
What have you been rewarding or not rewarding? Share in the comments.
