Back in December I made a goal for myself for 2018.
I was going to focus on helping professional, ambitious men do better in the dating market.
And so I did my research. And I realized that right now it’s really hard for a lot of these guys.
One phrase I kept on hearing is “The Dating Market is Broken“.
So, I dug a little deeper: what does it mean that the dating market is broken?
Well, in just the past 5 years, online apps like Tinder and Bumble have changed the dating marketplace FOREVER.
Women these days are flooded with attention from men – mostly through their cellphones.
Whether you meet women online, or at a bar, or at work, you suddenly have to deal with a huge amount of competition.
It’s almost as if every attractive woman out there is constantly surrounded by a half-dozen other guys who are competing with you.
That abundance of male attention can make women seem entitled, distracted and hard to connect with.
Sometimes it can feel like there’s really no way to meet the kind of women you like…
And what’s worse – the problems with the dating market fall more heavily on quality guys. The guys who don’t want to spend hours and hours every week trying to get dates from online dating sites. The guys who have jobs and a lot going on with their lives suffer most.
This is what guys mean when they say that the “dating market is broken”. They mean that cultural and technological changes are making it harder and harder for quality guys to compete.
And what’s funny is that I hear this same complaint from women. For them, it looks like a different problem – they feel like they’re getting overwhelmed with attention from douchebags and idiots.
With all this attention, women know something is missing.
